Turkey time!

American people are not only celebrating that Bush is gone forever and Obama is here. This week they are going to celebrate Thanksgiving day.

Our class today is based on knowing about this celebration.

Go to the following link and start. Don't worry, it is difficult the first time you listen to it, but you can listen as many times as you need.

Now watch and answer. In the following list, you have some words which can help you understand the sketch better:

Trifle = type of English cake
From scratch= desde el comienzo, de cero
Right before= justo antes
Layer= capa, sedimento
Sneak and taste= probar a hurtadillas a escondidas
Shepherd pie = pastel de carne con patatas
Screw up = fastidiar algo
Eggplant= berenjena
Selfish = egoista
Balcony = terraza
“I’ll help you dial” = te ayudaré a marcar (to dial es marcar un número de teléfono)
Feet = pies
Are you kidding? = ¿Estás de broma?
Grab = agarrar, coger fuertemente
Pot =marihuana
Drugs = drogas, medicinas (en este contexto drogas)
Stick by someone= apoyar a alguien

What is Rachel's weird ingredient in her trifle cake?

Why does she make that mistake?

How many people are invited to Thanksgiving dinner?

Where does Chandler go to have his dessert?

Who is the only one enjoying his dessert?

Can you name any of the ingredients she put in her cake?

I know we don't celebrate Thanksgiving but let's wish them a nice day.

Coming soon to a theatre near you!

This is the sentence you hear at the States every time a new movie is released in theatres around the country.

Take a look at this trailer. Both 4th of ESO (we are talking about books, and this film is based on a best-seller from a book series, first one with the same title as the film ) and 2nd of Bachillerato. About the book, you can put it down once you have started reading it. I haven't read the second one but it seems to be as good as the first. The film... What can I say? I will watch it in Christmas for sure. Take a look at it. Enjoy it!

Hello 4th of ESO!

You can raise your marks in this evaluation if you engage in the following project.

You have to do a glogster, using the three topics for the evaluation: Teenagers today, books and the material world.

You can use images, songs, videos, etc.

This is a voluntary assignment. But it could help you if your grades are not good enough.

Take a look at the following samples:

It seems difficult but it is not.

Today we are going to play with glogster. Have fun and a great weekend!

You are doing really well!

I have seen you are tackling glogster perfectly fine.
Keep it up. In the meantime, take a look at this. I know many of you have seen him but he is a success story. Really admirable, and we can also play different tunes...

Listen and watch the first video.

1. What is Paul's profession? Where is he from?
2. What is the title of the song he sings? What language is he singing in?
3. What is the name of his company?
4. What does the woman jury call Paul?

Now listen and watch again.

This is good a little competition...

Good morning students!
I see that creativity is not only a privilege for Art students...
Take a look at Rafa and Daniel's glogster as well as Arianna's. You can do it as they did, and really well. By the way, Rafa and Daniel, the mouth getting its tongue in an out all the time is a plus (positivo) ha, ha, ha. I'm just kidding (new word?). Bon Jovi is one of my favourite singers but he was better at the beginning. Now he has sold himself to gold... Still, he is great and... yummy!
See you around

Wow, look at Arianna's glogster

Take a look at the comments section and copy and paste in the bar address her glogster. This is what Iam looking for. Very well Arianna!

Sometimes, when the media video is very "heavy" talking in tech language, it takes a while to reproduce it. Do not worry, the second time you play it is much better.

Keep up the good work!

2PAC for 2nd year of Bachillerato

Hi dear students. It is a beautiful Sunday morning and you can take advantage of it, but this evening you should study so it may be the time to take a look at your new assignment.

You will have to create a page in the link
It is very easy.

But in the mean time, you will have to answer to the following questions on 2Pac Shakur's life

1. Name three places where Tupac stayed during his short life.

2. Could you say in which state is Baltimore (MD)?

3. Besides singing, what other activity was he engaged in?

Now find synonyms in the text:
a) incapable
b) killer
c) astonishing
d) withdrawn

Finally, in addition to Past simple, which of course it is the main tense to narrate events in the past, can you find different tenses in the text? Can you say what tenses they are and provide samples?

I hope your weekend it's been as productive and relaxing as mine. See you tomorrow!

Especially you, Daniel...

Then, take a look at the song in the video and the video itself. I'll bring the lyrics to class.
